InterContinental Khao Yai Resort Dog Friendly Review

InterContinental Khao Yai Resort holds an A Roch Rank, the highest of any hotel we rank in Thailand, and it has earned it with a dog programme as considered as the resort itself. It sits on the edge of Khao Yai National Park in Pak Chong, and it is unlike any hotel in the country: designed by Bill Bensley around the heritage railway of north-eastern Thailand, its suites and villas are built inside upcycled train carriages that ran on the line more than a century ago. Somying's Kitchen, Poirot, Papillon Bar, the Tea Carriage and the Terminus Bar by the Water Tank Pool make up its dining, the spa is Back on Track, and the resort holds a MICHELIN Key, with Poirot recognised in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026.

Dogs stay in the resort's dog friendly rooms, up to two to a room, and arrive to a bed, food and water bowls, welcome treats, toys and poop bags. The kitchen prepares a pet breakfast of freshly cooked dishes such as boiled chicken and mashed vegetables, and there is an a la carte pet menu besides. Your dog is welcome with you in the covered lobby seating and on its terrace, at the open-air Terminus Bar beside the Water Tank Pool, and at the outdoor tables of Somying's Kitchen, Poirot and Papillon Bar, while the dining rooms themselves are kept for people. There is a dedicated Dog Run, a garden and a dog shower, and a pet door hanger means your dog can stay in the room for a short while if you go to dinner. The resort runs dog events too: Paws in the Park in October 2026 brought owners and their dogs together for activities and behaviour training, and two events a year are planned. Cats are welcome as well.

The dog fee is THB 2,500 per dog per night, with a refundable deposit of THB 5,000, and dogs up to 77 lbs are welcome. For anyone travelling Thailand with a dog, this is the most complete welcome in the country.
